My Appendix N (what is this?)
Books
The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden - absolutely stunning. All three books in this series are good, but the first one (this one) is utterly fantastic. Russian folklore meets fantasy adventure.
The Bone Houses by Emily Lloyd-Jones - dark fantasy with deep lore, great characters, and a very special goat. It's technically YA, but don't let that scare you away
The Ranger of Marzanna by Jon Skovron - a superior balance of action and world building. If you don't have 1,001 D&D ideas after this, something went wrong.
Movies
Coming soon.
TV Shows
She-Ra and the Princesses of Power - technically this is for kids, but it is solid gold for D&D ideas, character development, etc. I'm hopeful there is a campaign setting book for this down the road. If not, I might just have to write it myself.
